Jackie Robinson
The book Jackie Robinson talks about the early life of young Jackie, to when he becomes a famous baseball player, to his final time as an elderly individual. Jackie having to endure the time of discrimination is having a hard time with sports; the white community at that time was very racist and didn’t allow colored people to participate in anything. He played many sports including football, basketball, baseball, and track running. After, he decided to focus on baseball. He was later recognized for his talent while playing at UCLA. He started playing pro baseball and finished with ten years of hard work and dedication for that sport. He retired and lived a happy and leisure life with his wife in a beautiful home and a great life.

Paranoid Park
The book Paranoid Park talks about a young teen, named Blake Nelson, who decides to go to Paranoid Park, a famous park where all the best skaters go and hang out, and gets caught in a fight leaving someone dead. In the nights that follow he keeps thinking about getting caught, going to jail, getting a death sentence, etc.Throughout the rest of the book he tries to figure out what to do and how to avoid it, but the pressure begins to build when a cop appears at his school wanting to question skaters but then he becomes an alliance with a detective called Brady. He and Brady go around and try to solve the mysterious murderer. Suddenly one day he decided to go to Paranoid Park again where he finds trouble with the other skaters. He gets beat up but detective Brady comes to his rescue. The next day everything is back to normal, cops don’t come and take him away from class early in handcuffs, no more phone calls, Brady doesn’t even come around. His little incident is no longer remembered and he is free
The pictish child
In the book The pictish child twins Jennifer and Peter with their younger sister Molly have come from America to spend the summer with Gran and Da in Scotland. On a rainy day Jennifer and Peter and their little sister Molly go with Gran to visit three old friends at the Eventide Home. One of the old ladies gives Molly a talisman, a small stone carved with the picture of a bird on top of a snake. The talisman attracts both a time traveling young girl from the ancient tribe of the Picts and a dark magical force. The children work to return Ninia, the Pictish girl, to her own time; they must also protect themselves from the evil creeping mist. They also discover that one of the old women at Eventide is a descendant of the first owner of the talisman and will be able to take Ninia home. However, the children first had to rescue the women from their caretaker, who has them under a spell, before Mrs. MacAlpin can return Ninia to early Scotland.
